What are the different types of lenses?

Hard contacts

Hard contact lenses, including rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses, are made of plastic and other materials. The lenses firmly hold their shape but let oxygen reach your eyes. If you have astigmatism, keratoconus, or allergies, hard contacts might be a good fit for you.

Gas-permeable scleral contacts have a larger diameter and rest on the whites of your eyes. These lenses are useful for treating vision problems caused by keratoconus, a corneal irregularity.

Rigid CRT® lenses, or corneal refractive therapy lenses, correct nearsightedness or astigmatism while you sleep without the need for daytime glasses or contacts.

Soft contacts
